I'm Kelsey Looney, and I am currently the Visiting Assistant Professor of Costume Design at Ouachita Baptist University.

I believe that theatre creates a window to another time or place, and that costumes provide a tactile connection to that world.

I use research to provide inspiration as I examine character and search for details that make a costume work. As a designer, it is important to be flexible and adaptable to the challenges that theatre brings, and remember that imagination and intuition are always a part of storytelling, but most ideas can be improved by collaboration.
